Feng Shui for Love

Feng Shui can be a vey powerful tool when used correctly. It can help you thrive in any and all areas of your life, including your relationships and love life.

Feng Shui is about bringing balance to your space so you can thrive, but it is also about making space in your life for new beginnings and opportunities. There are a lot of tips and tricks you can use, either to make space for a new relationship, or to strengthen the relationship you are currently in.

If you’re single and are ready for a new relationship:

  1. Try to let go of items from your past relationships. As you may already know, de-cluttering is one of the 1st steps to take when you Feng Shui your home, because clutter allows energy to become stagnant and blocked. By letting go of some things that remind you of your previous partners (i.e. pictures, letters, gifts…) you are making space for someone new to come into your life.
  2. Place things in pairs in your bedroom. Have matching nightstands on either side of your bed, matching lamps etc… By doing this, you are expressing that you are ready to have someone else come into your life, and that you have room for them. Another trick is to hang 8 empty hangers in your closet, to symbolically make room for someone else as well.
  3. Choose artwork that symbolizes love for your bedroom, like pictures of 2 swans, 2 hearts or even 2 flowers, and try to avoid having pictures of you by yourself. Your bedroom should always inspire peace and tranquility, but it should also embody romance.

If you are looking to strengthen your current relationship:

  1. De-clutter your bedroom. Again, clutter makes for blocked energy, which can lead to blocked feelings and emotions, so make sure your bedroom is nice and tidy.
  2. Hang pictures of you and your partner, and avoid hanging pictures of other people like family or friends. The bedroom is your couple’s sacred space, so it should be just yours.
  3. Try to make sure you and your partner have equal space in the bedroom. For example, placing the bed against the wall so that it’s only accessible from one side tends to suggest one of you has more importance than the other. Having things in pairs like matching nightstand and lamps is also a good idea.
  4. If possible, choose to sleep in a queen bed. This is the ideal size bed to promote closeness (both emotional and physical) in a couple. But if you really can’t live without your king bed, keep it and just apply the rest of these tips!

In both cases, you can also place a bowl of rose quartz in the Southwest area of your home, which is the Love & Relationships area. Rose quartz is known as the “Love Stone”, and it is believed to open your heart to love (your love for others, but also your love for yourself!).

Feng Shui is a great way to make space for love in your life and to make sure your relationship(s) are a priority. We are nothing without love, and we should nurture it!
